Folk Legend and Activist Joan Baez

A woman who needs no introduction, Joan Baez shaped the face of modern folk music with her powerful songs of protest. With a penchant for poetic lyricism and a soprano voice akin to that of an angel, her legacy spans 55 years and 30 albums, also covering a range of genres and styles. Perhaps best known as one of the most familiar faces of the folk movement of the early sixties, her collaborators include Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohan and Ryan Adams.

Joining Baez will be special guest Mary Chapin Carpenter, the acoustic guitar-wielding singer songwriter who's folk-influenced Americana rose to the top of the Washington folk-scene to international attention with the release of her fourth album Come on Come On in 1992.
