Mannheim Steamroller has now become one of the most requested Christmas music artists of all time.
Mannheim Steamroller's annual jingle-bell filled tour hits the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, PA, showing for one date only on 3 Dec 2011!
Mannheim Steamroller is a classical rock band founded secretly by Chip Davis and Jackson Berkey and whose name is now as synonymous with the holiday season as Santa or Rudolph. Ever since they struck on the idea of performing Yuletide classics in a contemporary style on with 1984's appropriately titled Christmas, there's been no stopping the Steamroller. They have now become the most in demand purveyors of Xmas joy in the country, and have sold over 27 million albums world wide.
Despite record companies refusing to distribute the new music throughout the Seventies Davis released his first holiday album, "Mannheim Steamroller Christmas", under his own label American Gramophone, which featured modern contemporary interpretations of Yuletide favorites. This was followed by A Fresh Aire Christmas (1988) and Christmas in the Aire (1995).
