Why See Opera Philadelphia: The Barber of Seville?

Figaro! Figaro! Figaro!

Opera Philadelphia is starting the season with an all new Barber of Seville, Rossini's farcical opera. The first in the trilogy starring the mischievous Count Almavira and his wily servant Figaro as they take on the adventure of wooing the witty beauty Rosina, right out from under the nose of Dr Bartolo. With devious disguises, meddlesome mishaps, the fate of the heart of this young girl is one thrilling and hilarious ride!

This wonderful new production marks the 40th Anniversary of Opera Philadelphia and stars Jonathan Beyer as Figaro, Taylor Stayton as Count Almavira and Jennifer Holloway as Rosina. A must see for fans of this 200 year old masterpiece!
