Attended the 3/17/18 2:00 pm performance and was amazed once again by the PA Ballet. Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried were spectacular. I left with tears in my eyes. Thank you for a great performance.

This production of Swan Lake was absolutely gorgeous! I agree with Kathy; I've never seen such talented dancers. It was perfection. Each scene was visually breathtaking. And the PA Ballet Orchestra's performance was top notch. I loved everything about this ballet. We had lunch beforehand at Estia on Locust St. and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great swan, rest was phoned in

The stage design was uninspired, told you where the action was without transporting you. Only two moments were memorable: the men walking behind the curtain with torches and the last scene as the swans sink into the fog. In comparison to the magical scene design of the Washington's Ballet for the Nutcracker, this was pretty bland and down right boring. While Odette was incredible, all the other figures were mediocre (hard to say if its poorer quality talent than the Washington Ballet or the choreography was so boring and dull that the dancers weren't able to exhibit their skill), we found ourselves bored. Rarely did the choreography take my breath away--here again the Washington Ballet far outperforms. The music was way too quite, at no point did I "feel" the music in my bones as one should in the dramatic moments. While we're glad we went, we'll certainly think twice about seeing the PA ballet again. First impression: it's just too tradition, boring, and uninspired.
