An Evening Of Doo Wop Classics
Get your hair in a quiff and your bow-tie and dancing shoes on, because this special night of Doo Wop classics is sure to take you back to the golden era of close harmonies and swing! Featuring performances from The Duprees, Herb Reed's The Platters, Jimmy Clanton, Kid Kyle, Cleveland Still and the Dubs, Oh What A Night Of Doo-Wop & Rock n Roll at Philly's Keswick Theatre is a celebration of Doo Wop's top crooners and the nostalgic romance of a capella performance.
Hailing from New Jersey, headliners The Duprees made their mark in the early 60s with hits like "You Belong To Me" and "My Own True Love", hitting the Top 40 on multiple occasions. Sharing the stage with them will be the inimitable Herb Reed's The Platters, another high-flying act of Doo Wop that charmed their way into the charts 40 times, starting with the classic smash hit "The Great Pretender" in 1955. Following Reed's death in 2012, this new group continues on in his memory.
