Prog metal giants play their latest concept album in full

Why See Dream Theater?

The Astonishing Played In Full

Never a band to skimp on ambition, Dream Theater's latest record is a sprawling concept album, running to 34 tracks. Spread over two 'Acts', The Astonishing tells the story of a band of rebels trying to overthrow an oppressive force. Among the characters involved, who all of their own vocal style and musical trademarks, are Emperor Nafyryus and Empress Arabelle.

Lead guitarist Joh Petruci has revealed the band may well think about turning The Astonishing into a Broadway show in the future, but for now they'll be playing it in its entirety live on this tour. As ever with Dream Theater, these shows are going to be spectacular fusions of music, lighting and stage design.
