JULIANNE MOORE'S ACCLAIMED BOOK COMES TO THE STAGE!
Walnut Street Theatre presents a brand-new musical based on the popular children's book by actress Julianne Moore! Our heroine is a seven-year old girl who simply loathes her freckly face. Teased by her friends for her complexion, Freckleface tries everything to get rid of them; she tries to scrub them off with soap, caking on thick makeup, and she even resorts to wearing a ski mask to school! But as she learns with the help of a kooky teacher and her friends, everybody is different and she goes on a music and song-filled journey to self-acceptance. A must-see for young children to learn about accepting their differences and loving themselves for who they are.
Already a big hit in New York, this musical is based on the New York Times best-selling book by acclaimed actress (and freckly red-head) Julianne Moore. Based on her own real-life early experiences, it encourages children to love themselves for their differences and sends a lovely message about self-love and acceptance without being saccharine sweet or cloying. This musical adaptation will capture the imaginations of little ones in the Philly area and would make an ideal show to see during the school holidays.
