The Horace B. Smedley football team aren't doing so great. They don't just lose every game they play, they've never actually won a single point! The school's teacher Miss Nelson decides that enough is enough, and calls on the serves of Miss Viola Swamp AKA The meanest substitute teacher in the whole wide world, to coach the team into shape!

Adapted by Joan Cushing from the best-selling book by Harry Allard and James Marshall (the third in the Miss Nelson trilogy), Miss Nelson Has a Field Day is a wonderfully funny and touching musical about the importance of teamwork, which has won rave reviews everywhere it's staged - The New York Times called it a "tour de force". It makes for a worthy closer to the Walnut Street Theatre for Kids season.
