In 2005, the Ward Studio established its Company Program, offering opportunities for its finest graduates to work as an ensemble, becoming collaborators in the creation of original work. In its first season, the Ward Studio Company received two nominations for Outstanding Acting from New York Innovative Theatre Awards and became renowned for telling big stories in small spaces. The company now boasts membership from the US, Australia, Germany, and Macedonia.
Their work has been described as "movies on stage", in reference to their particular ability to perform with stark authenticity and an extraordinary esprit de corps.
