Why See Gad Elmaleh?
France's favourite comedian Gad Elmaleh hits New York City
Gad Elmaleh is of Morrocan Sephardi Jewish descent and currently living and works in France. This unique and exotic cultural heritage has certainly given him a certain je ne sais quoi, and the stand up-comedian and actor quickly has quickly risen to prominence as one of France's favourite funnymen since the debut of an autobiographical show in 1997.
Often referred to as the "Jerry Seinfeld of France", Elmaleh transcends cultural boundaries with his wry observations and colourful characterizations. Perhaps it's because he is blessed with a broad world view and embraced internationally, perhaps it's because humour is a language that unites us all - one thing is for sure, the quadrilingual comedian knows how to make an audience roll in the aisles regardless of nationality.
Performance date: 8 February 2017
