Why See Philadelphia Orchestra - Connesson, Tchaikovsky & Debussy?
Featuring guest violinist Gil Shaham
An exciting quatro program awaits this October, led by conductor Stephane Deneve and guest-starring virtuoso violinist Gil Shaham. Deneve's concert forms part of a year-long touring series that explores the work of Guillaume Connesson; in this engagement, it's the Russian-inspired Maslenitsa that kicks off proceedings. This is followed by Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and concluding with Tchaikovsky's Suite from The Sleeping Beauty, Op. 66a.
