Spend an evening in the company of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra and world renowned German-born conductor Christoph Eschenbach as they perform Weber's Overture to Der Freishcutz, Schuman's Cello Concerto featuring MacArthur Fellow and prodigious violinist Alisa Weilerstein, and Beethoven's triumphant Fifth Symphony.

Considered the most influential and important symphonic works of the Western Classical tradition, Beethoven's Fifth opens with four well known notes, hammering its symbolic war-time victory home. This rhythm permeates throughout the instrumental sections, raising electric tension as the piece builds to its dramatic and explosive conclusion.
