March 1 - 3, 2018

Noted conductor Michael Tilson Thomas brings a fresh new outlook to Tchaikovsky's last masterpiece. First performed only nine days before his death, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 has often been dubbed as the great composer's suicide note. With its lugubrious ending, critics have suggested that the music predicted Tchaikovsky's very own demise.

Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra - Rachmaninoffs Symphony No. 2

March 8 - 10, 2018

The Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra has a long-standing tradition with the works of the Pianist, Rachmaninoff. The composer's second symphony was his founding glory after his first symphony was heralded a complete disaster. Because of this first 'failed' attempt, Rachmaninoff found himself in a deep pit of depression, never sure if he'd write again. However, he strove on and completed his second symphony, one which had significantly more success than its predecessor.

They'll be lead by one of the NY theatre district's best conductor's, whose worked on Roman Holiday, An American In Paris and 42nd Street amongst other shows.

Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra - Bernstein's Age of Anxiety

March 16 - 18, 2018

Inspired by British poet W.H. Auden's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1947 work of the same name, Bernstein's Second Symphony is a complicated yet radiant exploration of the themes of self and desires, mirroring the clashing ideals of the post-war generation, driven to confusion and loneliness in the rapidly changing world around them.
