Why See Slowdive?
Here they come
The legendary Slowdive tour with a brand new album in the works too! This comes after the January release of their single 'Star Riving' - the band's first single in over 20 years! The influential UK outfit rose to prominence in the early 1990s as flag-bearers of the burgeoning shoegaze scene, a dreamy genre of alternative rock that buried its sixties-pop melodies beneath a deep layer of distortion and feedback.
The band's 1993 sophomore album Souvlaki, which was somewhat neglected at the time of its release, has grown in stature and is now held up alongside My Bloody Valentine's Loveless as one of the movement's defining statements. After a hiatus lasting nearly twenty years, Slowdive reunited in 2014 and embarked on a world tour, which included headlining slots at the Primavera Festivals in Spain and Portugal. Now see them again - and with brand new songs too! - when they play at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA, Closed November 15, 2017
