FIRE THE SOUND GUY!!!!

The worst sound stage in my 47 years of concert going (61 years old). BASS, BASS, THUMP, THUMP.... No midrange (vocals) and no treble (lead guitar). And it was not the venue. Some of the other shows also had reviews of the sound problem. When you pay $275 for a ticket, you, (I), expect some sound quality. I have never written a review, posted on social media, I don't even have a cell phone. I was just disappointed to the extent that I went and looked to see if other shows/people had a similar experience. And it seems to be a common problem for the band, which I have been listening to since the first CD. Yes, I still play CDs and vinyl and have a high power home audio system with Bose 901 speakers. So when I go to a concert and hear something so totally different than my home concert experience I have to say something. TOOL, you know better. Fix the sound and rock on...

SOUND?

I agree with many here. I love this band but the sound was terrible. WAY too loud and poorly mixed. Couldn’t really differentiate the instruments. Went with the earplugs for a bit but was very disappointed with the sound mix.

SOUND WAS HORRIBLE

I was center stage right. I agree with all the sound issue comments as I had the same experience. I saw them in Milwaukee at Fiserv at their Halloween 2019 concert and the sound was clear, with separation and Manards awesome voice came through clear. This is not the first bad sound experience at United Center.

INTERESTING

The Mpls show on 3/13/22 was mostly new material. We knew only 2 of the songs they played. There was times where very few people were really into it while the rest of the audience just sat there. The sound was good. It was a short set and not really worth the wait for this show.

SOUND SUCKED.

When I got home from the concert I immediately googled the show. Was I the only one with these thoughts? The biggest rock concert draw today must have competent engineers and techs on staff. I knew something was up when we walked in and the opener, 'Steel Beans', one guy playing drums while simultaneously playing guitar, sounded like crap. In my head I was saying, is this what I'm in for? Yup. The same crappy audio followed right through to Tool's performance. Maynard's vocals were lost in the mix. Bass, Guitar, Drums were all over modulated, with the master gain too loud for the room! I was about 6 rows in front of the mixer, dead center stage. The same music I crank up in my man cave that shakes my house, forcing my wife to text me, turn it down you're freaking the cat out, that same audio I create in my man cave could not be recreated at this live performance. I was tempted to go up to the mixing board and ask who's in charge to give them some of my own feedback. 400 bucks.

I agree with all the audiophiles. We walked in midway through 'Steel Beans' and the audio sucked here too. We pay a lot to see a concert and take a guess to what the most important thing is? Sound dammit! Bass, Guitar, Drums were all over-modulated. The vocals were lost in the mix. The master gain was way too high for the room. I can't believe I'm saying this... the music was too loud! I love it loud, but it has to be clear. My seat was five rows in front of the mixer, and I was so tempted to voice my complaint. I thought it might just be me, but when I did a search the next day I saw many describing the same thing. Shame on you, Tool.

TOOL WAS GREAT. SOUND WAS AN ABSOLUTE LET DOWN.

Tool delivered everything you wanted from a band. The sound was a real let down. I have been a fan of tool for 20+ years and am fairly familiar with their lyrics on most songs. For the entire night I couldn't tell you a single word Manard said while the band was playing. When the opening band Elder came on you could tell something was off and it was never corrected. It was a real bummer.
