Pennsylvania Ballet present a springtime program of firsts for the company, including Balanchine's Serenade, his first ballet conceived in America, Choreographer in Residence Matthew Neenan's first company premiere and Liam Scarlett's Aspohdels Meadows, in a company and North American premiere!

Known for the ethereal blue tutus that got the choreographer a crater named for him on Mercury, Serenade is a beautiful classically inspired work that mimics an unexpected rehearsal with dancers coming on and off stage throughout.

Asphodels Meadows

Music by Poulenc

The Royal Ballet's wunderkind, Liam Scarlett is known as one of Ballet's youngest new voices. In Meadows, Poulenc's duet for two pianos scores this emotional and characterful tale of the Greek Underworld.
