The Walnut Street Theatre presents a not-to-be-missed local production of the Broadway hit musical, Memphis!
Set in the 1950s, the story is inspired by the legendary DJ Dewey Phillips and the music that became known as Rock 'n Roll. Explosive dancing and irresistible songs intersect a tale of forbidden romance and a radio DJ with a dream to change the world through the power of music.
Based on true events, Memphis the Musical premiered on Broadway in 2009 where it won four Tony Awards, including the award for Best Musical. This local Philadelphia production is to sure come alive on-stage with the same infectious beat as its Broadway predecessor!
