An Evening of Wagner, Haydn and Beethoven

Helmed by frequent guest collaborator Fabiosi Luisi, renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra ties Haydn, Beethoven and Wagner together under the theme of the British Isles.

Haydn's Symphony No. 104, also known as London, is a sweeping epic written after the composer left Vienna for England, also bidding farewell to his protege Beethoven, whose Piano Concerto No. 3 is lead by Bronfman. Wagner's Prelude chronicles the Celtic mythological tragedy of Tristan and Isoldewith, starting with the soul-stirring Tristan chord.
