Haydn's Symphony No. 104, also known as London, is a sweeping epic written after the composer left Vienna for England, also bidding farewell to his protege Beethoven, whose Piano Concerto No. 3 is lead by Bronfman. Wagner's Prelude chronicles the Celtic mythological tragedy of Tristan and Isoldewith, starting with the soul-stirring Tristan chord.
