Living legend John Williams returns to the Kimmel Center to conduct a program of his best loved works
A short time ago in a galaxy not so far away the musical visionary behind the most memorable melodies of all time took his first steps on a career path that would become the stuff of legend. With 24 Grammy Awards, five Oscars and four Golden Globes under his belt, John Williams is the modern world's answer to the great composers of the classical era, having written the soundtracks to films that have defined generations, from Star Wars to Indiana Jones. The composer returns to the Kimmel Center to lead the Philadelphia through a program of his best loved works.
Principal guest conductor, frequent collaborator and close friend of Williams Stephane Deneve will preside over the first half of the evening, whilst Williams himself will conduct the latter half. The exciting program includes instantly recognisable arrangements of film themes and selections from JFK, Sabrina, Star Wars and Harry Potter, as well as his Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra.
