A$AP Rocky brings his third album Testing to the stage on the Injured Generation Tour
New York Rapper A$AP Rocky, whose acronymic name fittingly stands for 'Always Strive And Prosper', and 'Acronym Symbolising Any Purpose', has spent a busy 2018 riding high after the critically acclaimed May 2018 release of his third studio album Testing, also appearing projects from Blood Orange, YG, Dean Blunt and Tyler The Creator. The A$AP Mob frontman gears up for the mammoth Injured Generation North American Tour during early 2019, hitting the stage with his new album material for the first time.
Growing up on the streets of Harlem, A$AP Rocky swapped drug dealing for rapping, and the release of mixtapes in the early 2010s caught the attention of notable blogs and R&B overlord Drake himself. A signing with Sony followed in 2011 and the rapper's bright future in the industry was secured thanks to a landmark debut album that featured the likes of Kendrik Lamar, Santigold and 2 Chainz in 2013. His latest effort sees a return the swaggering decadence of New York's golden age with a grungy Southern rap twist, bucking in the face of polished trends in favor of lo-fi experimentation and Skrillrex-esque beats.
