Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra - Tchaikovsky Spectacular

Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra - Tchaikovsky Spectacular at Mann Center For The Performing Arts

Why see Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra - Tchaikovsky Spectacular?

The 2017 Tchaikovsky Spectacular

Guest conductor Stephane Deneve will make his Mann Performing Arts Center debut, with this explosive celebration of Tchaikovsky's best-loved music, set to a very special fireworks display! The lineup for the evening begins with his Piano Concerto No. 1, followed by the tragically beautiful Francesca da Rimini, which tells the story of Dante's star-crossed lovers. The concert performance will conclude with fireworks, appropiately after the rousing 1812 Overture. Featuring Yijia Wang on piano.

In 2015, this special concert from the Philadelphia Orchestra provided an exciting journey through Tchaikovsky's ballet works, Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet. The 2016 program began with the dramatic Fourth Symphony, followed by Swan Lake in a theme that explored the concept of fate. The highlight of the evenings are always the riveting performance of the Overture - just be sure to leave those Guy Fawkes masks at home....
