Starting out as a Nashville session musician, acclaimed songwriter and and master of the fiddle Charlie Daniels has played on records by the likes of Bob Dylan and Hank Williams. His big solo break came in 1979 with the track The Devil Went Down to Georgia, which climbed into the higher echelons of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979, before its appearance in the John Travolta movie Urban Cowboy a year later cemented its position in American pop culture.
The Marshall Tucker Band have been releasing music steadily since their formation in 1972, and have a impressive catalogue of hits to their name, including Searchin' For a Rainbow, Can't You See and Heard It in a Love Song.
