Hollywood Star Katharine Hepburn's Life is Re-told on the Stage

Written by award-winning playwright Rick Foster, Kate: The Unexamined Life reflects on the extraordinary life of late Hollywood actress Kate Hepburn. Taking place on New Year's Eve in 1999, Hepburn reflects on her whole life and at the age of 92, asks, what does the future hold?

Told through intimate tales spoken to the audience by actress Janis Stevens who plays Kate, the story delves into Kate's six decade acting career, love affairs, highs, and lows. Born in 1907, she was widely known as being a fiery personality both on and off camera and became a star in the 1930s.

After playing a series of captivating characters, Kate received thirteen Academy Award nominations and a phenomenal four Best Actress Oscar wins. The actress was named the greatest female star of Classic Hollywood Cinema by the American Film Institute in 1999.
