HOLIDAY INN

Absolutely loved it! Singing and dancing was superb....I saw it last year on Broadway and this was just as spectacular. I highly recommend!!!

HOLIDAY INN

I was bedazzled by the costumes, the acting, the songs and singing, the dancing, and the energy of the actors/actresses. I was singing those songs all the way home. The theater is very cozy and every seat is a good seat. The area is full of nice restaurants, and we picked Maggiano's. Since we were going to the Walnut Street Theater, they graciously gave us 15% off our bill ! It was my first time at this theater, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone. I can't wait for the next play!

YES THE SHOW IS OLD BUT DID YOU SEE THE AUDIENCE ?

I saw a 2 p.m show this past Saturday with my wife. The seats were great as was the view. I am no expert (as others seem to be who posted here ) but if you can ask an extremely talented young cast to do justice to an 80 year old story and do it better than good then bravo.( do you theater folks still say that?) Anyway we loved it . As far the title of my review, it stems from being in our 60's and still being two of the youngest in attendance for the show. Thanks to the cast for putting such energy into songs and a story that were created in a different time, place and world.- ETL West Chester

TOO DATED

Sorry to disagree - but having had a subscription at WST for 30 + years - I can honestly say this was the worst musical they ever put on. The Dancers and singers were truly fabulous talented people - but they couldn't save the show. The set design and direction were uninspired. Having a 12 year old trying to collect for the bank was just preposterous - even though the young man that played the part was very talented. All the talented cast couldn't save this production.

SPELLING MISTAKE

Oops got carried away. My comment should have read “recommended”, so only a one star for spelling!

WRONG CAST ..TERRIBLE

“Holiday Inn” is one of my all-time favorite classic movies, the story of two show business guys, one looking for a quiet life and one shooting for the stars. The story works based on one being suave and cool and the other who is calm and sweet. The casting for the character of Ted Hanover (Ted Hanover: JACOB TISCHLER*) makes the character act silly and lacking that cool slick, sexy, put together dancer that makes both Lila and Linda beguiled by him. The character of Ted is intended to have that leading man Hollywood appeal but this casting shows no passion. The fire cracker dance routine looked like “Jerry Lewis tap dancing” for a gag. The tap dancing was off and nothing clean smooth about it. Lila Dixson (Lila Dixon: BONNIE KELLY*) and her ill-fitting blonde wig could not pull off the alluring dance partner and never looked connected to any emotion or character. Linda Mason (Linda Mason: CARY MICHELE MILLER*) although her singing is great at times she modernized the phrasing
