Noises Off

We saw the show Sunday and enjoyed it even more than the production we saw in New York. The cast really seemed to work well together. What a wonderful farce! The first act is the set up for the comedy and slapstick of the second act and people were screaming with laughter. We'll be getting season tickets for next year! Our seats were fine. I would definitely take my mother! Probably not kids. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance of the Walnut Street Theater.

Great cast, very funny

I thought the Walnut Street Theatre production of "Noises Off" was excellent! The opening night crowd was lighter than usual because of the weather, but those who were there really seemed to enjoy it. The set was beautiful, and it rotated 180 degrees between each act, which was impressive. The timing of the cast, particularly in the second act, was amazing, and Ben Dibble, Alanna Smith and Greg Wood were particularly good. The show is not appropriate for younger children due to language and mature themes. The show is a play within a play, and some of the comedy probably means more to someone with theatre experience. In short, excellent cast, great production, and lots of laughs.

Funny show with great actors

We are in town from the New Orleans area for a long weekend and truly enjoyed our experience at the Walnut. We go to both our large theatre in the city as well as smaller theatres in the area. We find while the acting is good at the smaller venues, it’s not to the level of The Saenger. Not the case here! These actors were fantastic! The show is laugh out loud funny, much of it slap stick humor. Don’t go in expecting a Sound of Music family feel good show. It’s not appropriate for young kids. My 16 year old son loved it (imagine that!) and so did my wife and I. If you are a product of the 80s, imagine Caddyshack or the original Vacation on stage. If the kids can handle the sex humor in those, they are fine at this show. I highly recommend this show if you are looking for a fun outing.

Funny and very clever

The Wslnut offers a good seat for all. There is some language so discretion is needed if bringing kids. Good restaurants within walking distance

Noises Up

Saw Noises Up on Saturday night with friends, and this wasn't the best that we have seen at the Walnut. This is the second one in a row that has disappointed us. Last show was the Humans and that was horrible. Thank goodness that Mama Mia is the next show we see. Our seats are great, not appropriate for younger children and I don't think it would interest older ones either. Did not leave but there were a lot of people who did. Thankful our dinner before the show was good so not a total waste of the night.

My husband and I saw Noises Off last night at the Walnut Street Theater. It was supposed to be funny, but we did not laugh once. It stunk. We could not even sit through the whole show. People in the audience were laughing I think because it was a comedy, not because of the content. Our seats were good. Not appropriate for children. Thank goodness we went to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. At least the whole evening wasn't a bust!
